DIY Front Porch Welcome Sign – $5 Quick and Easy!

***Update: stencil now available in our store: www.kandgmakeit.com/store

This episode is a quick and easy $5 DIY Front Porch Welcome Sign. We see these wooden Welcome signs on all of our neighbors porch and entryways, so we decided to join them.

We picked up some fence pickets at Lowe’s, picked up some chalk paint, and cut a paper stencil out on the Cricut.

Stuff We Used:
Cricut Maker:
Vinyl:
Transfer Tape:
White Chalk Paint –

You may have already answered these questions, but can’t read through all 338 comments to find. 🤪What type of paint did you use to paint the letters? Does your welcome sign stay outside? If so did the painted letters hold up? Reason I ask is I made one a couple of years ago for my daughter-in-law and used acrylic craft paint for the letters, Then polyurethaned the whole board. The stained part is holding up well, but the white painted letters are peeling, even under the polyurethane. I am wondering if the polyurethane was the culprit or if it was the weather? The board is on their covered front porch, and does not get wet, but we live in Missouri with huge temperature swings.

You guys are so awesome to make the mistake into a Masterpiece. How much is the regular price at regular store. I like to save $$.
My neighbors all have the welcome sign, but I think they paid high price at the stores.

Letters are 8.5” wide or high? What’s the actual width and height of the letters? I’m making one now and can’t figure out the width and length. 😩
